Swiss companies can now issue equity or debt securities digitally on the blockchain as ledger-based securities, a process commonly known as “tokenization”. Moving to digital shares has significant advantages, facilitating access to capital markets for start-ups and SMEs, as well as simplifying beneficial owner identification or the execution of certain corporate actions for companies. New infrastructures for issuing and trading equity or debt securities now exist. In collaboration with Innovaud and Taurus SA, the Capital Markets and Technology Association is devoting a morning to recent cases of tokenization and will present existing solutions as well as companies that have used them.
